Half time , Everton 0-1 City, sigh time to break out a Christmas pressie, Aberlour 12 year oldDouble cask matured. Never tried it before , bit driven past the distillery many times as it’s on the main road south/ Aviemore.
First impression is very good , smooth , typical Speyside malt. Will report back if game goes well.....

I'm normally an Islay malt addict but I confess I like a peppery Aberlour.

Don’t just stick to peated ones mate, mix it up a bit. And vice versa.
Oh I don't. I'll enjoy any malt from anywhere on the planet, depending on my mood/taste of the moment. Islay ones are always a particular treat suiting my tastebuds though.

If I won the lottery i'd probably fill a bath with Lagavulin or Ardbeg .... You can keep your goat's milk Cleopatra!

Like Highland Park, must try that. Only got about a dram left in my bottle of Bunnahabhain, which is another on my favourites list. The problem is that every one I try (other than the peaty ones) ends up on my favourites list! lol
Highland Park is my favourite and my “go to whisky “ . There are a number of Highland Park “ no age specified” whiskies around , usually with a Viking theme. This one, Dragon Legend is a typical HP or “ the richer, smokier side of Highland Park” it says on the box, yep it’s pretty good and if you like Highland Park you’ll like this.
