Picked up a bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask for 25 notes in Waitrose at the weekend. Shelf is starting to look half decent again at the moment. There's a good few decent malts to be had around the £25 mark at the moment.

I'm a fan of the Irish myself and yesterday after meeting a couple of mates in the afternoon We spent a relaxing end to the drinking in the railway on tithebarn street. They've got a really decent selection and we worked out way through the Irish down from tje bushmills 10 to the Middleton's at £14 a throw.

If your like whisky (with or without the e) it's well worth a visit

Love the Railway, and the Lion next door has a really good selection of malts on the go.

agree with the peaty malts .. best I ever tasted was something called "clearich" phonetic spelling . an old cooper from the 'fiddich distillery gave me a bottle once .. tasted great but one or two glasses and min side effects are double vision.

You not find you get a bit argumentative on scotch ?

I picked up a bottle of Jurra Superstion from Morrisons for 23. Its not bad, had better but not bad, a bit different. Only complaint is the nose

Jura is good but like you say, there's others higher up on my list. Still pleasant though.
