If our players had been as motivated for every game, as they were for the derby, then maybe we would not have had such a poor season so far. Part of the manager's job is to create and drive that motivation and desire. It is he, and his management team, who must, well, manage the team. Silva should, and will be judged on the season, not just how he manages a derby game. Therefore he should be given the rest of the season, a summer of fixing what went wrong, and see if things improve next season. If not, (like, bottom half by Christmas), then order the taxi.
However, these last two games have sparked a glimmer of hope in what could be achieved, with a bit of that winning desire to compete. Maybe with a bit more added talent to the team this summer, and a willingness to fix the weaknesses, we will actually see those silver linings.
However, right now, the forecast is cloudy with a chance of hoof balls.

If we beat Newcastle next game the I think it will show improvement but it has to be sustained to the end of the season, especially the home games against Utd,arsenal and Chelsea. Only then will we be able to start believing that we are going in the right direction.

Imagine a scenario where we start a season with a manager in place who has moulded a team over 2 seasons, had time to learn who he can and can’t rely on, has brought in players he wants in problem positions, has shifted out deadwood, there’s partnerships all over the pitch, there’s competition for places and options off the bench.

Or we go for another manager change and that scenario is even further away. The worlds best manager took over a squad that had finished 1st and 4th in their previous seasons, packed with world class players in every position and came 3rd winning nothing. Klopp took over a squad that had challenged for the title two seasons before, Coutinho and Firmino in place, and came 8th in his first season. Both are only able to do what they are doing now because they had time. Same with Pochettino at Spurs.

Yet we expect Silva to take over one of the worst squads in the prem, one that had felt the threat of relegation at some point for three seasons in a row. One with absolutely no striking threat of any kind. One with deep rooted mentality issues and a legacy of 4 years of botched recruitment leading to an unbalanced squad. We expected him in his first season to take this and challenge the top 6, and end some of these hoodoos they have dogged Everton for decades. It’s completey unrealistic.

We’ll be better after the summer window as we have been this season despite the set backs. We’ll be better the window after that as well. If in 3 seasons Silva isntakinnnus backwards like Martinez was then fine he’ll go. If he is driving us towards relegation after wasting 100s of millions then he’ll go. If everyone of his signings has improved us and we’re top half then he’s going nowhere people.

If the effort from players and fans on Sunday was a given every week then not many teams in this league would take points at Goodison. Silvas job is to keep that going. I’m hoping that the last 2 games is a turning point in his reign here, I still believe he can be successful here if given time, (I know many will say where’s the evidence of this) it’s just my opinion.

I know the derby isn't everything but he's the only manager since Moyes to have comfortably dealt with them lot when this is probably Liverpool's best team for a long time and we're not even parking the bus but actually having a decent go which is nice to see for once. I wanted him gone after Christmas 100% but I'm kind of leaning towards just giving him next season to see what he's got unless we lose 6/7/8 of our remaining games then I'd have to be in the Silva out camp.

I wanted him sacked straight after the Millwall debacle , moreso the Wolves game and a turgid display against a terrible Watford side.
But something has obviously changed , the team seem to be 100% behind him ( not like the previous 3 or 4 )
Even the fans have cranked up the support
like amazing at Cardiff and a derby atmosphere like Ive not seen for a very long time.
Now i'm willing to go along with him til at least the end of season.
There will be defeats in this tough run in , i accept that as long as we arent getting smashed all over the shop.
Starting this weekend at St James park , if the team show their comitment and show the same sort of pride I'm full behind them & him.

I just hope we win at Newcastle and keep the work rate up.

It won't be easy up there and I think the whole squad should be made to walk up the steps to the away end to see what us fans have to conquer just to watch them.

Make the drink ten pints before they do it and they will know what real hard work is

I would depend on what you mean by a decent go.Three shots on target, but nothing you could describe as a clear chance.

I mean DCL header could have gone in on a different day, If Bernard was a split second earlier that's in etc, I mean we're not just sitting back and letting them dominate we're actually trying to attack these teams.
