Should we prepare for life after...

If things had properly changed wed just say to Ross that he's under contract for another season. We hope you sensibly reconsider and the contract is always there to sign. You can go on a free if you so wish but you won't be sold. What's 20m if we actually are minted? It smacks of sell to buy.

You really think we can get that for him? I think another club would have to be very desperate at that price.

I do. Someone will pay that for fear of one of their rivals getting him. Chelsea is supposedly selling Costa to China for 75M (which is another discussion of craziness for a different time) so if that happens, they'd only need to stump up 25M to cover the whole deal.

I just hope we're smart enough to put add-ons in the deal along with a fat 20% sell on clause. We'd be stupid not to at his age.

i don't think barkley thinks he's too good for everton, there is something odd going on there though. He won't be sarting for spurs if he went there, that's for damn sure. As much of a fan i am, spurs have a supremely talented bunch in and around his positions. It's just all a bit odd for me, it'd be fairly sad to see him go if he did in the summer, despite his inconsistencies, i just think he needs help. Coaching on how to not let his confidence get down too easily.

Lukaku will still be here after this summer, whether he wants to go or not, we're not going to sell him, niasse, kone and send valencia back all in the same summer. We'd have to buy 3 or 4 strikers this summer, i'm fairly relaxed about that, but if a team comes in with a massive offer, i'd like to see us show we won't be pushed over from anyone, he's the key to qualifying for the champions league. If he scores the same he has this season, and we bring in some good players alongside, he'll fire us there, and he can leave with my well wishes should he still wish to go then. I won't ever complain about us turning down a massive offer for £80m this summer and instead selling him for half that next summer, it's a gamble we NEED to take.

If he does go for a cool 100 mill I doubt there would be a sell on clause, but possible if we let him go for around 70-75 million.

I'd imagine Chelsea will go all in for Morata or maybe even Higuaín if Costa twaddles off to China. I just don't think his link up play is good enough (yet) and the only reason someone would buy him at that sort of crazy money was if we were identified as a real threat to another CL team.

Lukaku is going, I accepted that months ago. I'd be looking for his replacement/s right now, get them in ASAP. Need at least 3 new forwards if/when he goes, we'll literally have no strikers apart from the youth.

Barkley isn't as cut and dry. At this point I wouldn't be broken up at all if he is sold, just don't think he's consistent enough. Koeman clearly isn't dead-set about keeping him and would definitely sell him for a good offer. It's up to player himself, does he want to stay here and keep trying win over sceptics or just go elsewhere and start a new chapter for his career? I'm fine with either personally.

I'd demand £70-£80m for Lukaku and would accept anywhere around £35-40m for Ross. That with the money that's already there should mean Koeman can buy 5 or 6 quality players to come in get us ready to seriously challenge for something next season. I'm honestly feeling very positive about the future.

Rom needs to go. Quick sharp. Someone is obviously in Barkleys ear. (Possibly Rom) 3 England managers in a year have give him no game time so that must say something. Won't be losing sleep over either. 2 individuals who when we play a top team they snuff out easily. Get more team players in like gana and Morgan.

Cool Dave, please don't forget to tag me in when you do, wouldn't wanna miss that.
It's a delicate matter. I can't post in the appropriate thread so I'd have to give it some thought how to address your question fully. Suffice to say for now that the man in question hasn't won a bean in a decade and prior to that win some BS trophies, including some weird item called The Johan Cruyff Shield x 3.

Staggering too would be the fact we'd lost the three jewels in the crown of the club in 12 months...thus running a coach and horses through the 'determined' policy of the owner to keep our best young players.

No matter what you think of one or all of them:

Stones
Barkley
Lukaku

...looks like a club with zip to offer ambitious young players.
yep going to have to agree with this, this would be a massive setback, for future ambition as much as present

could we really get replacements of the quality and potential of these 2 lads? i'm skeptical

If they go they go.

Good players obviously but its not like we have been collecting trophies left right and centre with them either.
dont really get this line of argument. they may have been here for a while but theyre both only 23! coming off a promising first season with our new manager who is a winner, and will definitely target silverware more than his 2 predecessors

i understand the difficulties in keeping them but they quite clearly arent the reason we havent been winning crap, and the prefrred option would be to build the team round them
