Distin has been directly or indirectly responsible for many of the goals we've conceded this season. His decision making is poor.

Distin has made lots of mistakes. However he has made lots of mistakes trying to implement a football "philosophy" (I hate that word, it sounds like Rodgers, and would use tactic) that isn't suited to him. If you get Distin to try and play like Becknbauer he is going to make lots of mistakes.
We kind of have 3 options then.
1) Martinez changes his tactics to suit the players
2) We get a manager in who can build a tactical game plan to suit the players needs
3) We give Martinez the opportunity to buy in players that suit his game plan.
I don't like option 1 because I am unsure he is capable of that, or if he is if he's the best man for the job. Option 2 I don't like, because it had gone stale under
Moyes. I think we need to try option 3. January is going to be important for Martinez to start that process.
