I said in the last thread I'd make my mind up after the next two games and the Qatar trip.

Finally saw a balanced line-up yesterday with two wingers. Hope it's a turning point and we don't see Barkley and Naismith starting together again (unless the formation is changed).

Good start and result yesterday!!!

The players havent been the issue for most of this season.

The Managers tactics, man management and stubborness to adopt a plan b have been the cause and root of everything.

Serious? ?

Versus newcastle mcgeady tries to dribble a ball out in a dangerous position only to give the ball to the opposition for them score

Against newcastle Barkley cant control a simple ball in our penalty area for the opposition to score

No matter who manages the team.... no one could forgive these examples of basic football skills being neglected to cause goals against

I'm not saying RM is not a problem but to suggest the players are not to blame is niave

Big experienced players have seriously let the club down, injuries and some woeful ref decisions have all contributed to where we are now

I think RM will have learnt some big lessons during this run and he will have realised who has let the team down .....

Change for me is not the answer, last year some of the football we played was fantastic. ...we will get back to this no doubt

I never said change was the answer and to a degree the players have underperformed massively, but its down to the Manager to motivate them and im sorry but hes failed to do that in a number of games when our play has looked stale and inept.

Agreed but players have to take ownership and perform, these are professional players and a manager has to motivate but players have a duty to do the basics right and try.... people like jags need to hang their heads in shame, as a captain he needs to lead which he doesnt, distin is finished , piennar needs to go mayb ossie as well.

Martinez has to take a lot of the blame but some players should hang their heads in shame

Well I dont recall the players coming out after games saying we had played well after getting spanked everywhere by Southampton.

Meh, look forward not backwards, the signs recently have been encouraging, lets hope it continues.

Let's see what happens in the remaining 15 games. There's 45 points still up for grabs. Who knows where we'll end up this season.

It's way too early to say he's wiped out the credit he had in the bank from last season.

I agree with the top sentences. On The second point I would say he definitely has time to restore his credibility but up to this point he doesn't have much at the moment, the fans are edgy and last season seems a long way away. A few wins on the bounce would go a long way to restoring the faith in him similarly a few loses and he'll be in for a tough time. Somewhere inbetween will be enough to see him through.

Poor fare though it was, yesterday was important as an example of Martinez winning ugly when he had to. I haven't felt so relieved after a scrappy win in a very long time.

It's gone a long way towards calming my fears about relegation, although I'm still expecting the sort of derby result which would test the loyalty of any fans.

If we finish top half of the table, that, after a very good first season, would have to be taken as a decent first two seasons in charge. So I think it's all to play for in that respect.

He has a massive rebuilding job between May and August this year.

If he's given the resources...

I'd take that. I know some who couldn't care less about it but I'm hoping for a good run in the Europa It would make for a pleasant ending to a stressful season.

Yeah. I thought we invested too much into that tournament early in the season. But it could be useful now building up the experience of winning again.

Draws against City and WBA followed up by a good win against a form side away from home

Add to that we have only conceded 1 goal in those three games, A definite improvement since the horror show at Hull
