Nah.

Personnel. Injured or out of form or over the hill.

He's a very good manager. No question in my mind. Give him time,

As I said, man management, how does a manager turn Ross Barkley from Englands greatest talent to a player so devoid in confidence he can barely make 5 yard passes?

Of course. Martinez made a series of blunders. He played conservative last summer when he really should have used his position of power and credibility to go through this squad like a dose of salts eliminating all the weaknesses and getting replacements in.

I doubt if you would have had a record points total or 5th place in that case and no Europe football.

The air has come rushing out of that balloon.

As for being proven right, I was never going to be wrong. It wasn't on the cards for us to be relegated at any point.

We've had a poor season. Draw a line under it and move on.

*grins; sorry mate no can do, having too much fun...I ( we ) might even be right...so might you... but in reality it maybe somewhere in between

Anyone brushing over the problems we have had this season is being a bit stupid ,Even if we stay up which I don't doubt we will but I'm still nervous about at the moment. Martinez will be under serious pressure next season now as a result of the performances this season. He's lost all the credit he earned last season, He'll be starting from scratch again in the sense of winning the fans over, Unless we win the Europa which would make him king again.

I don't think he deserves any credit for keeping us up ,we shouldn't be anywhere near the bottom.

Yep.

We should never be in this position to start with.

But here we are.

Let's see what happens in the remaining 15 games. There's 45 points still up for grabs. Who knows where we'll end up this season.

It's way too early to say he's wiped out the credit he had in the bank from last season.

In all honesty we shouldn't be in this position, not with squad we have and the brand of football last year, which has taken a complete 180.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the summer; 1) with the type of player he wants in, and 2) if the pre season is planned better

Even if we win all remaining games we will be a point short of last seasons total I think. the defence only looks sorted now which ain't a great reflection on manager etc now it's too late to come anywhere but 8th to tenth. He's a strange fellow and doesn't do himself any favours with interviews either etc but if the ship is now steadying no point in giving him the boot yet anyways I reckon.

I honestly think if Stones and McCarthy had been fit all season we'd still have a chance of Europa. These two players are crucial. We're unbeaten in 5 since Stones has come back in properly.

Last season the defense was like it is now all season. Then you only need to score a goal and you've won (like yesterday). We had Deulofeu, Mirallas Pienaar Osman and Barkley all fit and in form. Due to injuries we've not kept the clean sheets then haven't had the attacking options. Martinez of course should have adapted and played a different way to win.

I still maintain though that with a fully fit squad we'd be up with Spurs and Liverpool this season. Even though we were poor v West Ham, Cuty and West Brom, we restricted these sides to barely any chances, the same with Palace. If we can sort out the other end then you've got the foundations of a good team.
