Short corners? a better option than just lump it in??

Short corners are my pet hate. ****ing hate them. Most of the time you're just left shouting at the tv DAFUQ WOZ DA POINT IN DAT?!

And our long corners really did the biz for us last Sat, all they did was get Fellaini a 3 game ban.

They're obviously not doing it right and/or using the wrong players. Make me short corner coach and I will give you 10 goals
a season.
Giz a job, go on giz a job, I can do that job

Come on Statto's just how many goals have we scored from corners ( not crosses ) this season

I agree we always need to mix it up a bit. Prefer long corners but got to keep the opposition guessing.

We could do with leaving a man up when we defend corners too.

Also what is it with this "two arms in the air" signal, originally developed by M Arteta but mimicked by others since? Does it actually mean anything? Is it eleaborate code for "far post, lads"??

Long or short the ball ends up coming into the box.

What imo we do wrong at corners, is that we are often static when the ball is delivered, therefore negating the advantage of someone like Fellaini, who when he attacks the ball is virtually unplayable in the air. I'd like to see him stood further out & then running onto the ball, more often than we do now.

One thing Cahill did give us was space in the box, even when he wasn't playing well he used to take 2 or 3 players with him through reputation alone. Obviously when he was playing well you could roll it along the floor to the edge of the penalty area and he would still find a way to header it in.
Felli is a danger and Jelavic is capable but other than that I wouldn't expect anyone to get on the end of a cross to be honest.

The opposition are more likely to score from one of our corners than we are.

5 corners we had yesterday. First half 1 Pienaar hit the first man and they countered, 1 he hit straight out of play and 1 Gibson hit the first man and they countered.

Second half Baines managed to get one in the box that the keeper got a fist to where our tactic was stick everyone in the 6 yard box and hope, the other i think a couple of players actually made runs but nothing came from it.

Their goal Kamara made a run and the ball was played into a good area.

Its not just yesterday, we might score the odd goal from corners when we actually take a decent one but the delivery and movement in the box seems so poor, i can't believe that Premier League players can be so poor.

We used to be boss at corners when we had Sharpie in the team. Near post flick on, goal. Happened time n time again. Nobody could deal with it. Also probably helped that we had Sheedy / Steven taking them. Apart from that, Hinchcliffe's were pretty sweet.

I think it very much depends on the opposition team (their defenders height) and our strikers (height) in any given game.

Tonight our set plays will be vital, reckon we'll nick a dodgy goal form a corner

Very much this, ought to be tailored to exploit opposition weaknesses versus our strengths at that time of play.
