Ok, this is my final rant about the state of the Club I am not part of KEIOC I am not part of the Blue Union I am just simply an Evertonian. I have kept quiet since the end of the season as I have been thinking a few things over so I would like you to just take a moment and read this (remembering this is just my opinion and in some parts a few ideas of where we could go as we need to look forward)
Lets just make something very very clear, unless an obscenely rich arab or russian comes our way and pays top dollar we are in this situation for the forseeable.
I have also said before Bill Kenwright is a failed Coronation Street actor, although funny to some it is the truth. Bill then turned his hand to being a theatre impressario and has done well for himself. However not well enough to fund a football club of Everton's stature. Which leads me onto his ownership, as a theatre businessman and as he says he is an Evertonian and he has come from the boy's pen etc etc he has obviously failed in one dynamically specific area and that is in his team. Take Robert Elstone for example, I was fortunate enough to play on Goodison Park a the Tuesday after it was announced David Moyes was to depart. I arrived at Goodison at around 11:30am there seemed to be plenty going on around Goodison having played Chelsea on the Sunday there was still some tidying up going on. I parked up and walked over to Everton One, there was literally nothing worth purchasing as a souvenir in the entire store just bad tat and no decent casual gear nothing. Who deals with this oh Kitbag, the "amazing" deal done by Robert Elstone. As I emegrated down south last year this was to be my opportunity to get stuff as it can only be bought online and I dont trust the sizes, so came away with nothing. As I was walking up Goodison Road but who jogs past me in his running gear but Robert Elstone! I thought to myself going for a run when we literally have no manager surely you have work to do during the working day, ah well **** it he must be on his lunch break we all deserve one. Anyway skip a bit and I am warming up on the pitch and I notice in Phil Neville's sponsored box Elstone is sat there reading the paper! He did actually watch our entire game! I thought to myself and told him at the end of the game I will leave my CV on his desk for the vacant job as Manager he just smiled. Anyway the bloke is a liability and needs removing from the Club, his business acumen is a big fat 0, his advice to Bill is dia and he should be held accountable for the badge debacle and sacked. His business deals that HE is organinsing and selling to Bill are ludicrous and something absolutely stinks about all of them, from the kitbag deal to stubhub to the pie sellers ALL bad and below Everton Football Club's traditional standards.
Onto the other debacles, I am extremely pleased that Myers is coming back to Everton. The bloke actually knows what he is doing and I am sure he will be doing his upmost to communicate everything as soon as he can to us fans.
There are other people in a "team" that regularly advise Bill Kenwright at the Club. I wont go into names but this "team" have ill advised Bill for too long.
So removal of negativity needs to be the way forward and a pioneering restructure there needs to be a replacement of Robert Elstone that has Everton's interests at heart and you have to agree in the same way that Bill does (he is one of us after all that is true) The Kitbag, Nike and Chang deals all need to be dealt with by someone else. Everton may not be offering European football at this exact moment but that is the next step we are however touring the states surely Nike being American would want Everton kits on sale in America if we are playing there??? Kitbag WILL ONLY DISTRIBUTE ONLINE and not to retail outlets other than EFC One and EFC Two. The global brand needs building and this is a start.
If you have something for sale what do you do? advertise it! Now I have been in business long enough to know that if your sales team arent selling your product then eventually you have to sack them. Everton Football Club has supposedly been for sale for a very long time now. In that space of time there have been several major takeovers around European football and big money spent, where were are sales people when this was happening??? So sack the team/teams involved with the promotion of selling Everton Football Club. Get a team together of "headhunters" pay them top whack and get this Club sold.
FORGET this new ground rubbish as it is NEVER EVER going to happen with this current board in charge, even if every single one of them including the Earl chipped all their money in they couldnt afford it. So leave it until a new owner is involved and then look for somewhere to pitch the tent.
Finch Farm, if you have never been there it is very impressive. I am fortunate enough to have spent quite a bit of time there it needs to be OWNED by the Club, it is an asset and personally I would think it be better to spend some of the TV money over the next few years buying it back on drip from the council or whoever owns it this week. 33% better on the rent do one Elstone that could change instantly in the same way my council tax did last month!
Goodison Park, make it Royal Blue again. The old lady is looking tired and needs a lick of paint, the stone chippings around the edge of the pitch for example they were put down when Rooney was born and now look pale blue sort it out. Get fans involved surely there are Evertonian tradesmen that would relish the chance to say they are involved in working on Goodison and would do it a bit cheaper throw some tickets in for example it aint rocket science.
Near the end of half time have you tried getting a brew in some parts of the ground? Not a chance run out in most cases, how can they get this so wrong? communication! they dont know to order more because nobody talks to eachother there is just moaning.
The badge is no longer an issue apart from someone being held accountable they have said they are going to sort it and it will be at the end of this season. In this day and age especially when fans contribute financially in such a big way, why arent the entire fans database consulted run a competition FFS instead of paying through the nose for a "consultation design team" anyhow thats how it should be done but bad advise to Bill again.
I could go on, but havent the time. To conclude Bill Kenwright is badly badly advised and there needs to be some heads chopped and fresh blood brought into the Club young fresh ideas are the way ahead as the old boys have got no idea of the future.
Lastly just a final message from me to you, lets try and be a bit more positive about things it could be worse but 6th, 7th or 8th isnt good enough for OUR Football Club. The School of Science is currently closed for refurbishment.
