Gutted to admit it , but I agree with Tommye.... ( not gutted about Duffy, he was useless, gutted about agreeing with @tommye )

I like Richard Dunne but unfortunately football these days is all about 6 pack, 100 metre sprinters in attack, bulky players like Duffy and Dunne are unfortunately in the wrong era, see Razor Ruddock for example, he got games 20 years ago but wouldnt do it now...

Strange comparison that, not even sure what my point was now !

You're argument falls down due to the fact Ruddock is about 50 and about 25 stone....of course he wouldn't do it now.....silly.

I'm inclined to side on the 2 professional premiere league managers who saw him train however many times a week and didn't think he was good enough to play for our first team tbh.

Duffy kept a clean sheet on his debut against championship opposistion, Jageilka and Distin conceeded 3 goals against a squad that wouldn't look out of place in the championship.

Why is this thread not in World Football @roydo?

Shane was here for a good few years on a permie contract rather than a years loan, I'd say the discussion was still Everton related.
If we get a Blackburn fan coming on here discussing how well he's doing there, then that would be a good time to point the discussion in the direction of "World Football".
