He wasn't though, I could name 50 centre halves who were better than him, during my adulthood.

I´m sure you could name 50 cbs in your adulthood that are better than all the cbs we have had in that time though.

Doesn´t mean Dunne was crap, or wouldn´t have been good for us if he played here in his prime. There are a lot of footballers in the world buster!

He was okay mate, don't get me wrong. He was also a fat peehead who liked the cheeseburgers a bit too much.

Average player mate. Not arsed we sold him. Rooney, though, on the other hand.... Still gutted we sold him.

Exactly - where do we stop?

If we don't stop somewhere, every player who ever left becomes our greatest 'player who never was'.

Duffy is a unique case, well he is for me anyway

I've been annoyed when younger team members have been sold before, but this one has merked me more than usual

We'll see how he does at Blackburn, but I think he'll go on to be a solid Premier League Level CB, who we could have benfitted from

Him and Stones had a chance to develop a long term partnership that could have really gone somewhere

Again, if Alcaraz doesn't get signed, I think Duffy gets more games

2 of our managers who looked at the lad every day in training, patently weren't confident in his ability at PL level.

I wish the lad well, but I'd have good money that he never makes a quality PL CB.

The only reason this thread has resurfaced is that we're defending like drains at the minute, but it doesn't somehow make Duffy the lost answer.
