Obviously you were going to grasp onto the first quiet game he has in the knockouts and attempt to milk it for far beyond what it's worth, but he hasn't been bad at all. If the defence has a good game, you have to give them credit and France have been excellent. Lukaku's touches have been for the vast majority sound and he's tried to find space. If he does score he's done well.

No, I've just said it's not his fault as it's not a game for the strikers - Giroud has suffered in the same way - but I will maintain regardless that he wasn't going to have a good game here. Because that's been his career - the odd 9/10 beast mode performance bookended by multiple 3/10 performances.

I get you are a fanboy of him but you can't just say every game he has is a good game and disregard the evidence to the contrary.
