....when we were in 4th place, just 5 pts off the top, lording it over the RS down in 5th, and talk was of overtaking Chelsea shortly to go into 3rd. But it was only 6 weeks ago. It beggars belief that some posters continue to deny that the lack of activity in the January window has been a factor in our subsequent slide. Will we ever again be in a top 4 position at the half way stage of the season?

Be'ave.

There is only one word which is casting a blight over our prospects right now.

Sunderland.

With those three points in the bank and with a match in hand v Palace at home, we'd still be well in the mix.

We haven't had a "slide".

We have lost a couple of tough games just as all bar the RS seem to be doing at the moment.

EFC are on an upward curve and I for one think we are still in with a squeak for the CL with about one third of the season yet to play.

And I think we have a great chance of winning the F.A. Cup.

If you're feeling depressed at Everton's plight, having won a paltry six games out of the last ten - losing two of them away with an injury laden squad to teams with vastly superior resources then just boot up this thread and play the video below:

Kind of puts things in perspective....

Nail on head!!

Yes ideally, January could of been more productive due to current injuries but RM has signed 9 players since the summer. 2 in the jan window. We'v had it much much worse in the past. It's not as if we have the resources to keep making signings just to cover injuries!

A few good signings in the summer, I see no reason why we won't be challanging up and around where we are this season.

Yep, the 1993-94 season is always the yardstick to which we should measure Everton's success.

Were dead aren't we?

It happened after the four nil derby defeat. It was fatal. Goodison is boarded up now and the team have been made redundant. And here's us.

Here's us.

We aren't dead but the torture continues.

Another season waxing lyrical about how we are actually challenging the top four and playing 'some of the best football in the league', only for us to fall flat on our face, watch them lot hammer us into oblivion, and quite possibly have to witness another fecking bus parade in which 800 million squillion people hit the streets of Liverpool to watch them bring the league trophy back to Merseyside.

Oh, and I can't wait to be subjected to those magical European nights again next season, that's going to be a great laugh!

Maximum points is what we need now bar the chelsea game (we are clearly losing that one).

There will be mothing better than winning every game from now until may more or less, f.a cup final place and be able to say to them lot that the derby result was meaningless for our season.

Remember lads, we still dont know just how good Traore is yet!

I hope he's bloody sensational for a 12 game spell.

It was lack of investment in January. It's as simple as that. Imagine if we had an actual striker on the pitch against Liverpool and Spurs.
