Following the tragic loss of my Father-In-Law yesterday (Who was a massive Blue!), after an all too short battle with the big 'C', i have decided out of respect to a great man to give up on football for a few months until next season and this includes both the last home game, the final and of course arguing about pointless/meaningless debates on football forums which pale into insignifance.
I wish everyone all the best for the coming months and i hope Everton bring home the silverware for all the blues who have sadly lost there lives and wont get to experience the joy on May 30th.
Best of luck lads and i hope to carry on debating next season.

Hes even got the same first name as Halewood!!!!!

Ok, ffs, not the post, I KNOW ALRIGHT.

RIP, the big C will get us all, but this seems a little drastic, im fairly sure he wouldnt want you missing the games because of him, if he was a blue, he would want you to cheer on the boys for him.

But you do what ever you need to support your wife thru this very tough time, peace out.

I know where youre coming from lad .
Do what feels right . Come back when youre ready . These sad fukas will all still be here . Me included , unfortunately .
R.I.P.

Not to play the victim but I know someone who would get verbally abused for that kind of comment.

sorry for you're loss, and its very admirable that you possess the self-control to give up football for this long (especially the FA cup).

i completely respect your decision, and trust me i understand your view that in the face of death, trivial discussions like the ones on here, and even the ludicrousy surrounding football behavior seem entirely insignificant compared to what is really important in life. still, remember not to lose sight of the simple pleasures in life, one of which for me is the inexplicable passion i can feel for a team that i'm so tenuously tied to at all.

so personally i believe your father-in-law would want you to experience the joy of a cup final, but of course you know the man and i don't so i can't really pass judgment on this. best of luck in your time of grieving and don't hesitate to pm me if you'd like to discuss anything.
