Sean Dyche

The threat of the points deduction hung over us until the appeal reduced it. No one at the club at the time knew if it would be reduced or not, or how big the second deduction would be. We had to play matches under those conditions. Not sure why that’s so difficult to understand. Dyche reeled off 4 wins in a row in that period.

We’re only enjoying premier league football now because of the work Dyche did in those two seasons and it sickens you to admit that.

‘Beyond a miracle’ @MikeH72 2023

Didn’t we not win for 4 months after those 4 wins though?

Didn't we only stay up because Newcastle saved a pen against Leicester second last game? My memory's hazy. If that goes in we were down?

In the end yes, but it's too simple to put it just to that without leaving out everything else. We lost almost against everyone involved in the relegation battle under Frank around Christmas, West Ham and Wolves played a good 2nd half of the season and we couldn't rely on 3 teams totally awful unlike the following 2 seasons.

I believe we had like 21 points from 18 games under Dyche, was ok and keeps you up over 38 games. In the end, I don't care how, I am glad we did it, because we were likely going the same road as Leicester this season with points deductions, forcing to sell the last bit of quality in the championship, still unsolved ownership etc...

Probably Dyche was the right man for the situation in 2023, but I was really happy once he was out...

What did he say?
Speaking about his exit, Dyche repeated his position that he started the talks over his departure and said he advised the club to pursue David Moyes, who returned to the club later that month.

He said: “I just knew it. I said to the staff: ‘I can see it in these lads’ eyes.’ The weight of Everton's got too powerful and they need it to lift and the only way of lifting it is if the manager goes.

“And I actually said to them, bring Moyes in if he'll do it.”

Biggest egotist on the planet. Like that even happened. Coward wouldn’t even leave the club without a pay-off.

He’s essentially just said that the weight of the Everton job was too big for him, in a roundabout way while still trying to pin it all on the players. Glad he’s finally acknowledged what we all knew anyway.
