Even tho he had a good game i still feel he is a bit naive defensively, yes that will come in in time, so playing him now and again will not do him any harm. Thing to remember is first and foremost a fullback is there to defend not attack. So against the better attacking sides you still need Hibbo or dare i say Neville there. if you just want your fullbacks to go charging up the line in support of the attack, hell play Naismith, fullback in front of Miralles then its sorted.

My problem with Coleman is that he's fine when he's direct and can run into space and do something on the run, but whenever he has more than a second to think about what to do he gets very nervy and often loses possession. I think he's more of a "burst" type of footballer rather than a tactical one.

Therefore, I think he's a situational right back. If we were up against a side we wanted to keep tight against, I'd prefer Hibbert. If we're holding a slender lead with an hour gone I think I'd prefer Hibbo too.

But he's a good option when we want a bit of an attacking threat down the right. But people calling for him to be an automatic starter are probably calling for it prematurely.

He simply needs games in order to learn the position and become more comfortable at it which will come from confidence.

We signed him as a right back, he was used as a right back early in his career, he helped get Blackpool promoted as a right back.

Then spent the next 2 years as a right mid cause Moyes didn't buy a proper right mid.

He has potential, at the moment sure he's rough round the edges but he's young and relatively inexperienced at rb so simply needs to be given time and games to improve.

If he isn't up it after that sure, replace him if we can. But for now he should be doing as we did yesterday, starting against teams below us in the league.

When Coleman came on as a sub v Spurs at right back he was a sensation so why not just give him a complete run there & see what he really is like 6 games or so then you will see the results of him I am confident he woul;d be just what we have needed at right back all this time!

He was there for orient and I reckon he'll get three in a row now. Swansea, Leeds and Southampton. Should be enough for him to make his case. Still think he'll be our first choice RB by this time next year.

I have a feeling Moyes doesn't relish the idea of being attack minded down both flanks. He likes to be able to call on players to shuttle across and fill gaps he thinks will be exposed if a Baines/Pienaar move breaks down. He'll always prefer a defensive RB to an attacking one.

I think that is probably it, and because Baines/Pienaar are so good, Moyes may think we don't always need to try and replicate it on the right hand side.
