Awful tonight, lost count how many times they put crosses in from that side. He's well on the decline, can still churn out the odd good defensive performance here or there but he's going downhill rapidly. Farcical how people seem to love him though just because he does an interview playing to the gallery talking about standards.

Time to go.

He’s a great guy. He’s still got the odd burst in him.
But we do need an upgrade. He goes back too much.
Agreed needs replacing next summer but more than capable back up. Really want him to win a trophy and not end up like Baines, jags Cahill Pienaar etc who had great careers here but nothing to show for it

How many clutch cup games has Seamus lost now? We need winners, not good lads. Seamus always did his best - but his best was never good enough. When push came to shove in the big cup matches over the years - Everton's only serious chance of silverware - Seamus always ended up on the losing side. It wasn't all his fault, of course, but he has effectively become the Mike Lyons of the last decade. Until the fans start putting winners on pedestals rather than good lads, little will change.

Very good post

To illustrate my point, there is Seamus in pride of place in that animated Everton legends team line up from across the decades along with the likes of Phil Jagielka, another good lad. And no place for the great Adrian Heath in the same artwork. I realise the pickings have been slim to nothing over the last 25 years, but really...

He'll be here till his contract expires in 2022.

Not bad for a backup player imo...though if we sign a RB we could use Holgate as cover and move both Kenny and Coleman on.

Ancelotti will probably want him around till 2022 though as he seems to favour experience.
