Seamus Coleman isn't up to it.

He's one of our only options of getting behind a fullback and one of our only pacey options. Being on the right hand side isn't helping him at all with Hibbert as his main option. You can see he has the talent to get past players, I think he'd do this better at right back where he could be played in behind a lot more than he is now - that would require someone decent enough on our right hand side to play him through. His final ball and passing ability needs to be worked on and to play at right back he would need a bit more defensive work, but I hope that's where he eventually ends up.

Praise Hibbert as much as you want for his defensive work and lately his more willingness to get forward, but it is just fact that his crossing and attacking play is abysmal. Half of the time the possession gets moved to the right hand side, we get nowhere. We have a really solid midfield, a pretty good defense and woeful strikers/wingers. I think sacraficing Hibbert for a more attacking option that could turn our right hand side into a bit more than a waste of possession is the way to go - at least try it out for a few games!

He's playing out of possistion and No he's not good enough as a RW because he isn't one! I do think it will of improved him as a player though and will benefit him when he reverts to RB. He's still young and has alot to learn as a RB but I think he will turn out fine there as he learns and improves.

I think this thread is a bit out of tune. An in form Coleman ran circles around Cashley last year, this year when our entire team has played pretty crappily he'll always get isolated when getting into the space where you could usually put a cross in. Most of the time there's no one there.
People are not committing forward when we have a chance, which means opposing teams do not have to drop, which means when they get the ball they can immediately cover half a pitch's worth of space before running into any pressure whatsoever. And then, it's usually a lacklustre Saha who maybe tries to cut off a pass through the middle.

isnt a bit rich to be saying how bad he is playing ...he cost around 65k for starters and even last yr when he had some good games for us his biggest attribute is still his energy and willinginess to give it a go...
yes ther are times when im puling my hair out and his final ball or decision but how many times( even during our good run last year) has he been isolated or left to go at it alone....this is a management problem to solve

how many other teams to do see in the prem catching teams on the break with usually just 1 player ????

coleman is average and id imagiine DM prefers him to others at the moment is because he offers a more defensive option to the others
