Aberdeen lost Fergie for a start although they did OK after for a while. Dundee Utd never had enough cash to maintain the challenge. The big let-down has been Edinburgh's failure to compete with the Old Firm since the 50s.
Hearts went close a couple of times
Hibs eventually won the Scottish cup after a long wait
Yes big support new grounds both in the top league so who knows
Think hearts need to lose levein to push on
Wonder how lennon will cope with the added pressure

Lennon has been there before with Celtic of course but he's got less to play with now. I think Hibs will do well.

Hearts are a bit of an unknown quantity. They've signed Kyle Lafferty who has set about making as many enemies as possible prior to the start of the season!

The guy won't last long second time around up here, total plonker, Northern Ireland's answer to Joey Barton but with even less brains.

Hard to believe that some Celtic fans still don't like McCann either

He saved that club from certain doom, they should build him a statue

It's crazy, I remember going to Celtic park in the 90s to watch Falkirk, during the boycott they had. Those big terraces were empty, they were getting crowds of 10-15 thousand. They were in a bad state before McCann came in and built their stadium etc, they weren't even finishing 2nd in the league. Who knows where they would have ended up without him

Denis Law was in home city Aberdeen today opening a football school.

People forget what an icon Law was in the early 60s. Pass a playground and you'd see all the kids with shirt cuffs grasped in fists and imperiously celebrating goals arm raised high.

He was quickly eclipsed though by Beatle boy Best and he became a sort of mentor to him.

Rather a blinkered, parochial outlook that Pete if you don't mind me saying.
Sure the quality and level of the SPL is nothing like the EPL, but you won't hear too many Celtic fans complaining about annual participation in the Champions League.
@Mikey_Fitzgerald

They seem pretty happy to be honest

It must be nice battering your rivals almost every time out

Hopefully one day that might be Everton sticking it to Liverpool ;)

Scottish football used to be wonderful, full of passion. It produced some of the finest players, many of whom played in England and indeed Everton. But it has lost its way, there is no competition. It was bad enough with 2 teams competing but now it's just a case of give the trophies to Celtic and be done with it. Your own reply sums it up, celtics annual participation in the Champions League, it's a joke league......
