What happened to him at Feyenoord after the league win? Did he leave or was he sacked?

Caught it on the STV news, sadly he's looking very frail, bloody shame one of my all time favourites and a genuine Scottish legend. It's fitting he has a statue and I shall make a point of visiting it next time I'm in the granite city, it's in a nice redeveloped part of the city centre.
