….defending is an art, Dave. It really is something that’s learned. Patterson is only coming out of age restricted football, he’s pitched into international football without playing regularly at club level. As long as he has the physicality to cope defensively, he will develop with experience, particularly playing alongside seasoned professionals.

He‘s making defensive mistakes but they will decrease with time. At this stage of his career to say “he can’t defend, that’s the start and end of the matter” is ludicrous.
Good defenders have that instinct. A radar in their heads letting them know when and where danger is. That's something you cant learn.

Let's have this absolutely right: most players described as RB these days are nothing of the sort, and they're not wing-backs either. They are and out wingers with neither the application or inclination to get back and do a job in their own half.

There is no way that lad for Rangers is a FB. None at all. And you're kidding yourself if you think anyone will ask him to be one either. A player either likes the defensive side of the game and is competitive enough to get up and down the pitch or they dont. Most dont.

This more your thing, Div?

Anyone in here been to any Scottish games lately ? I’m just wondering how strict the vaccine pass rule is ?
You will be asked to show proof of double vaccine by stewards at turnstile,
but tbh depending where you're going and how busy it is they're usually more interested in getting crowds inside the stadium and don't really look at any proof you might attempt to show them.
