Neither of them has stepped out of line in the world of the 'super prods'. People can talk about Lennon being abrasive all they want but if he stayed silent and knew his place when first threatening instead of being an 'uppity Fenian' and embrassing loyalism, events would never of snowballed further. In the mind of the 'culturally' superior he spoke back and that can never be forgotten whether he stays silent or not regardless of his character.
PS both Rodgers and O'Neill have spoken about the abuse they received in Scotland and called Lennon's abuse racist.

I find it a bit weird, you complaining about racism. When your post contains sarcastic sectarian phrases about prods being culturally superior etc.Well i stand over what i say regardless.

Come on mate let’s not paint Lennon as a martyr here , what happened was bang out of order but come on .

Once again you come across as a clueless, self righteous idiot. I remember @davek posting something along the lines that if you turned up at Ibrox they would sort you out for being the catholic that you are, but you seemed to believe that because you had renounced catholicism?(sp) you would be ok? Not gonnae happen. As for the whole poppy nonsense, I was unfortunate enough to be sent a photo of a bunch of Ragers fans who proudly had their Union Flags behind them and their faces covered up like Muslims. Problem was that they were all wearing poppys (absolutely agree), but were giving NAZI salutes, how retarded are these ar5eholes?

What i would say here, is that Brendan Rodgers and Martin O'Neill are of the same background as Neill Lennon.Yet neither men, get the same volumes of abuse that Neill Lennon does.I certainly do not condone the actions of the coin throwing Hearts fan, nor do i condone the actions of people sending bombs in the post etc.But Neill Lennon is a provocative character, who constantly brings trouble onto himself unfortunately.
Strange that when Neil Lennon managed in England none of this abuse happened even though he was the same person then as he is now, yet when he manages in Scotland fans of Rangers and Hearts claim that he "brings trouble onto himself." Maybe his gesturing to the crowd might be a reaction to the constant vile sectarian/racist abuse he receives from fans of those clubs ?

Call it for what it is - a campaign of abuse against one individual by fans of Rangers and Hearts because of his religion and where he comes from, proving that sectarianism is alive and well in Scottish football. Banter is part and parcel of the game, and if those fans don't like him which they are entitled to do then boo him if he gestures to the crowd. But this has gone beyond that to the point where his personal safety could well be in danger, and anyone who contributes to this hate campaign should be held responsible for that.

I have total respect the guy for having the guts to speak out against those who are behind this and call it for what it is - blatant racism.

While sectarianism is a problem in scottish football.People are deluded, if they think it's just a Hearts and Rangers problem.I am still of the opinion, that Neill Lennon is his own worst enemy at times.

As corkie said, o'neil, rodgers, mcginn, mccourt are irish catholics but lennon gets abuse, and not just from 2 clubs, also check how many times has he been banned in the last couple of seasons, and as i've said before, i like lennon, hes passionate about his club and doesnt deserve what he gets,

You’ll struggle to find players less controversial than Niall McGinn, and Paddy McCourt. Both players were sent bullets through the post.

Lennon played, and managed, in England for around 14 years, or so, with no controversy whatsoever. The only people who attacked him in that time was Alan Shearer when he kicked him in the head. Lennon was OK with the Northern Ireland fans, until he signed for Celtic, the booing, by his own fans, started then he received threats, then attack's in the street, and was sent bombs, and bullets, in the post.

He does gesture to the crowd, same as Jose Mourinho does, and the same as Kris Boyle did yesterday. No one thinks of attacking them. Lennon is only in danger in two countries, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Those two countries are were the Orange Order are most prominent.

It’s out and out bigots who attack, and threaten, Neil Lennon. Others try to justify it with claims he gestures to the crowd, or is aggressive, and, incredibly, he has ginger hair, because the truth is unpalatable. The truth is, despite the fact it’s getting better, Scotland has a problem with anti-Catholic bigotry, and anti-Irish racism.
