They checked it because the linesman wrongly flagged him as offside, such is the standard up there. If we scored that goal and it got ruled out the cries of PL corruption would be deafening lol. He's not offside in any rulebook
He should be. He gains an advantage. He literally gets the ball seconds later. You may as well stand in the penalty box all game otherwise.

It was never a question of "needing them" it was just how it was when I was a kid. Irish, catholic background so support Everton and back Celtic.
Am from massive Irish background myself.

Am a recovering Catholic.

Wasn't having a go at you in particular.

Am just at pains to stress Lipuwl and Celtic are 2 peas in a pod.

So do I, but it would hardly kill Celtic for a non-Old Firm team to win it for the first time in forty years or whatever it is.

This is almost a worst-case scenario the way they have really lucked their way to the title due to some really dubious refereeing that has swung it their way.

It seems to me like it can be convincingly argued to have been in the same phase of play. It’s all one attacking move.

No doubt there will be technical reasons it is a “second phase” but it goes against common sense.
Maybe if you've got skin in the game but as a neutral this is just applying the rules as they get applied all across the world. He's objectively onside with no real grey area
