why does it actually matter if a ball deflects or is stopped by a hand by accident?

the rule was invented to stop players from picking up the ball and running with it

need a rule change, make that an indirect free kick. youre still punished for using arm, but its not a free strike on goal with a 75% chance of scoring from a cross that probably had less than 5
Yeah, a better articulated version of what I was thinking.

…..hope I’m wrong but just has a feel of ‘glorious failure’ for Hearts. Hopefully they heed the words of Sir Alf Ramsey after W Germany equalised in ‘66, ‘you’ve won it once, now go out and win it again’.

By the way, great goal by Chermiti for Rangers (worth a look at).

Hearts game plan is so far more effective then Celtics, waves will come so will come down to if the run out of puff IMO.

That’s if they don’t nick one themselves, it’s far from a great or even very good Celtic team.

….no doubt Hearts the better team but this has a sense of inevitability about it.

I’m tending to think, Hearts need to score another to secure the title.
