Mate, I agree with most of your post on Cruz.. Fact is though, Yakubu could carry the same tag you put on Saha.. I think the reason why he was dropped was due to his fitness. He's LAZY, gassed after 50 minutes.

Surely he should be match fit now? Form or not.

He has had moments of brilliance this season, no doubt.

I'm sure Davy Moyes knows more about his situation than I do.. We can't deny the fact that he did or didn't do something, whether he did [Poor language removed] Moyes or didn't pass fitness test, here's a guy playing week in/out, starting to look good again, and BAM he's dropped for an outta form Saha..

Mate, Moyes had a reason, he wouldn't just drop him for the sake of it.. Thus the (useless piece of [Poor language removed]) tag, can apply to Yakubu imo

Said something likewise in an earlier thread. Think you're right tbh.

Lets have it fooking straight here lads..... How can we as Evertonians complain about taking a chance on a striker who has scored over 20 goals in one season at English level....when our top goalscoring Striker has 3 all season? Get him on loan if he's fit! Stop moaning and give the bloke a chance!

I just facepalmed so hard I've inverted my nose.

Andy Johnson once scored 21 in the premier league. James Beattie once scored 23 in the premier league. Maybe we should get them back too?

The talk of loan strikers may be part of the master plan to encourage our current strikers to rediscover their form! Quickly.
Might be the catalyst they need.

I think the with Saha and Yakubu situation, could also be the fact Moyes does recognize the need for a change upfront and with the form/age of Saha he could possibly want to get rid of him.

Now currently in the form Saha is in no one will buy him and his value will be rock bottom, but get him a few goals under his belt, and his value will at least be partially restored. Now for a player being sold other clubs, they will now be looking at a French international that's just hitting some good form, which would be worth a punt, as compared to an aging Has been that hasn't scored in a year.

End result we could get a few million more for the sale of Saha, which could go into the kitty for some bigger and better buys.

In the end if it stinks like [Poor language removed] and plays like [Poor language removed], no ones going to buy it. But if you can dress it up a tad and make it do a few tricks clubs might think it's worth a bid.

Santa Cruz is 29 and injury prone, so if anyone think Saha's age/fitness is a problem, then SC is going to have the same problems. Just saying.

What I will say however, is that whilst I pray to God we don't sign him, even on a loan, if he does end up wearing the royal blue I will of course support him. He's always come across as a decent, humble bloke, but then I really liked Beattie, Marcus Bent and AJ too. It's what happens on the pitch that matters. I'll back him if he comes, but I think we've got about 3 or 4 striking options which are better. Which says a lot given the current state of our strike force.

My non Everton mates are amazed we do not rate Yak and Saha anymore. They do not get it, but then they haven't been watching every week!
Whoever wears the shirt gets our support. Wear the shirt with honour and we honour them back.
So if our manager gives up with the form/attitude of what we have and makes a rational decision on who leads the line, then we hope he has chosen well!
Cruz scored goals in a woeful Blackburn team. Marcus Bent scored goals in a woeful Leicester team.
It is very subjective of course.
Jo is a prime example of how it can look wrong, look right, but still be wrong in the long run!
I would still prefer Yak and Saha to start knocking in few goals and then we start again in the summer for a new front line.

I do rate the Yak still. Very much so.

Saha's useless at present though, and considering his shockingly high wage, I'd be happy to see him leave for nothing tomorrow.

I'd put good money that Santa Cruz is twice the player of either of those you have mentioned. Beattie is a fecking horse.

Yakubu is finished you numbskull!!!!!!! How many games and missed opportunities is it going to take for you to relise he is shizen!....Not the out and out goalscorer he once was and what we need.

Let me get this straight some of you guys think we should not get Santa Cruz or a player of his mold i.e Robbie Keane etc..... but keep giving Saha and Yakubu a chance????? Where is the logic in that? Even if we do sign a loanee striker the 2 dopes will still be here to use!!!

Well both of them have more consistency, mate. Beattie's hit double figures in the top flight 5 times.

Does Santa Cruz get a lot of assists? Does he track back really well? What is it? Because where I'm sitting, all he can boast is that one season. And contrasted with the umpteen woeful seasons, and a history of injuries, he doesn't look half the player.
