I think he will come good this season. No-one will touch him with those wages (£120k pw) so we might as well keep him as back-up to Cenk & Niasse.

..it takes a leap of faith to think he can come good after what we saw here and in Spain last season. 1 goal in 18 games, poor technical ability, difficult to know where to play him. History shows many decent full backs are converted forwards, perhaps he can be back up for Coleman!!

Homesick already i see...
SE QUEDA.

Fancy a vigorous bumming later ?

Still got time to come good, least there’s some raw material to work with there. If he’s willing to work then he’s one I wouldn’t mind if Silva gives another opportunity to.

I'd say he's got more ability than Niasse but he hasn't shown a fraction of the hard work and determination that Niasse has. This will all come down to Sandro and whether he wants to be playing regular football. He either needs to be willing to work his arse off, prove his worth and do what Niasse did or he’ll need to find a new club and realistically no one is going to pay him the money we are so he’ll also need to take a pay cut. Personally I’d like to see him prove me wrong because I think prior to last season there was clearly a player there but it’s on him now to show it.

Of all Steve Walsh's cock-ups (of which there are many) I don't blame him for the Sandro transfer, even when you factor his wages into account which are allegedly quite high.

£5m for a 21 year old ex Barca youth product who'd just scored 16 goals for a side who were terrible (I think they went down this year) was a heck of a deal imo.

Sometimes transfers just don't work out. The major worry moving forwards I think is why he continued to struggle in Seville.

Assuming he is on 120k a week for five years, that is over 30 million - that isn't a heck of a deal really is it ? It seems a bit desperate and bad mathematics, if true. I suppose the advantage is that the 5m was up front and the rest can be spread payments - but its still a lot.

...that will be the case for all of them if no bids come in. I’m sure he’d be out of the door if there was an opportunity to do so.

Hmm, not sure Eggs
Silva likes to play with three forwards. I think he might give Sandro a go there. If he can't cut it he'll be out of the door (should an offer come in) though.

I agree, when we heard of the transfer it seemed like a great bargain. Have said it in many places before..all the young or new players deserve a second chance because of no coaching, no direction, no mentoring, no tactics and a rubbish season last year which included sessions with Allardyce, lee and Shakespeare, which would drive anyone mad.

All the U20 WC winners, Holgate, Gylfi, Plus Sandro, Vlasic, Klassen, Keane deserve some time and a second chance. Bolasie, Williams, Cuco, Schneiderlin, Mirallas, less bothered about they don't really deserve second look in my opinion, I think they are the types who should have played better and upped their games to get through a difficult year.
