He had a season long loan deal at Sevilla in 2016, then signed for Antalyaspor in Turkey on august 2017, mutually terminated his contract with them in January 2018 after only playing 8 games for them in 5 months, so hasn't played much footy since his loan at Sevilla.

From what I can tell he recived some treatment in L.A. and something that was used in the procedure was a banned substance in Europe.

Yeah but deliberately or accidentally?
Surely if the latter there'd have been a big lawsuit over loss of earnings against the person who administered the treatment. It was in the home of litigation and unforgiveness after all.
