Indeed, Stu.

There are four teams on 24 points, which includes the 18th placed team.

Four wins four draws would take any of them to 40 points.

The key thing is, as you say, there are so many of them and they will all be playing each other and are well capable of beating enough of the teams in the bottom half to scramble toward that tally.

Add to that any and all of them are capable of beating EFC, Bornemouth, Foxes and Burnley from the top half.

And as Swansea in particular have shown, these teams are way more capable of taking sommat from the “big teams” than we are so that is another disadvantage we are at.

Now....in all probability this will not happen because we are starting to run out of matches.

But the 18th team finishing on 40 points is not an impossibility in this weird season.

@TonyS .... #noroomforcomplacency :p

Only two less than they've managed all season (26 games)

We’re safe mate, all of these teams will also be taking points off each other. Even abysmal as we are we still pick up 5 points every 4 games and will probably end up with 46 points......

Please, just cross him the ball.

WTF IS THIS? WHY IS HIS BACK NOT FACING THE GOAL. get rid.

Jan signings usually don't amount to much, especially on a struggling mess of a club where its sometimes every man for themselves (you know kind of what Niasse walked into). Now right now Niasse is better and should start. HOWEVER, because of your awful lineup circumstances of ineptitude gave you a chance to put him on at the half to get meaningful minutes in an open football game. Instead you waited until the end and then critized him in public.

In other news its been announced that Scheinderlein is too slow to close anyone down and even if he was fast isn't really bothered to close down anyone anyway. Can't pass worth a lick either and even though we are deep at that one position will be starting for the rest of the year.

But... that would be stupid. The ball is either intercepted by number six or overhit every time. The cut back to DLC is obviously the right ball.

If Cenk had angled his run closer to the back post then it gives the better margin for error on the pass but he didn't.

As for Allardyce's points, I haven't seen enough of Tosun to be able to judge one way or another. However, he is completely right that the way we set up demands that a striker is more 'complete' than just offering goals. DLC, unfortunately, offers hold up play but he's sporadic in how he does it and, unfortunately, isn't a finisher at this point in his career.

If Tosun is struggling to adapt, that's no big surprise though. I don't see a problem with what Allardyce is saying, apart from pointing out that the other options in Niasse and DCL don't offer much either, so there's an argument to be made for simply playing Tosun and letting himself play himself into adjusting to the league.

He is crap. We should have known this when we saw he had similar stats to the mighty Ryan babel and a 33 year old past in adebyaor. Oh and coming from europes 7th or 8th best league.

Once again Walsh has screwed up another signing and wasted millions. BFS has probably took a look at him in training and thought WTF is this.

Shows you how incompetent this club is.
