Sam Allardyce appreciation thread

Should this not be world football? He has nothing more to do with our great club and his time here needs forgotten.

Not really as Allardyce and football do not go together. Ale house perhaps seeing that is exactly how his teams used to play.

He's been on a roll lately hasn't he?

Only if that roll contains a large mixed grill inside it.

I think Sam had a big effect on that game, Unsworth was well out of his depths before that. Regardless, that's just my opinion on that game.

I see people saying they'd rather lose 4-3 etc which again cool that's your opinion, but people weren't saying that when we had Martinez doing exactly that.

For the record going to the game last season sucked under all of 3 managers who partook
Sam stated he was kept away from the players that day .....

Doesn't mean they wouldn't have played/worked harder knowing their new boss was in the stands
So literally any manager who was about to take over would have had the same effect then... which by extension means it was nothing to do with Allardyce himself.

Even Allardyce said initially that the West Ham win was nothing to do with him - until it became clear it was going to be comfortably our best performance of the season, and he decided to start trying to rewrite history

Yeah I guess. Don't know why this point has blown up anyway I did say it's just my opinion on that specific matter, unsworth was a mess prior to that game

Listening to Sam on SKY it is obvious that he is still very bitter still.

It is a pity there isn't some kind of parallel universe where Sam is still manager and his summer transfer activity could be compared with the signings of Richarlison, Digne, Bernard, Minna, Gomes and Zouma... it would be a very interesting comparison.

I don't blame him for being bitter.

He did what was asked of him, it was his biggest ever club job.

He would have loved to have had a go at it with Everton and who wouldn't ?

We know why he got jibbed, but his bitterness is totally understandable for me.

I do. He does this after every single job. During the summer he was clearly still bitter about the whole england thing and was making daft comments about how Southgate should be changing the entire lineup from game to game. Last season with us, he signed £50m worth of attacking players and we went 3 games with having 1 shot on goal between them due to the negative tactics he was playing and he wonders why the fans got fed up of him. He does himself no favours whatsoever imo and then will nearly always make it worse by coming out with some stupid comment in the media about how he is this managerial genius. Everton fans, West Ham fans, and Newcastle fans have all chased him out of their clubs because he is an outdated dinosaur, he has had his time and he needs to just accept it, fans just don't want to watch that type of rubbish.

Hang on mate.
Southgate pinged in a load of set pieces for centre halves to score from, let's not pretend England played good footy here.

He's bitter about England cos he got caught out being a greedy tit.
He got chased out of everton cos his footy was awful, not his results.

Anyway, we've all moved on now.
