It is a very tricky decision the stop and search conundrum. One the one hand it discovers bad people, on the other some good people feel aggrieved, and then of course there is the racial element of stopping those apparently most likely to commit crime. For me the police should stop and search anyone they want, Black, white, orange or whoever. Old and young. The ones that complain will invariably be those who are more likely to commit crime..., but if it reduces crime we should all be supportive.......
Quick question have you ever been stopped and searched ? Not stopped in your car for motoring matters actually stopped and a police officer go through you pockets and pat you down in the street . Because I have and I wasnt responsible for any crime and I didn’t like I all and I’m not a young black male so I don’t thunk it’s somethimg that should be so easily dismissed.
I do agree it’s a complex issue because I do think the decrease in stop search has impacted on the crime figures , it’s a balance and not an easy one .
