Nope, he is not.

No 'tosh' players at this level.

Of course there is

He's tosh for this level comparatively with his peers

There's crap players in every league who are good in comparison with a layman

Look at Tim Tebow

Terrible Quarter Back compared to someone like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers but he's vastly better at it than any average person who has never played in the NFL

So how has Cleverley become a footballer ??

Get these lads in the team and let them play FFS
And you would be the first one on here claiming that any moron should have known that *insert random bog-standard Scottish player* should have been bought in their place. For you to claim that a youth player who can't even get regular matches in the lower leagues should be given a squad spot over someone who managed to break through the ranks at United just shows how blurred and rose-tinted those glasses are.

Look, we all want our young players to come good but Lundstram has gone off the boil completely and will probably end up floating around teams in Divisions 1 and 2. He has been given more than enough chances to prove he is up to it. Look at the recent players that we 'knew' would be our young stars and who just needed a chance who didn't end up all that: Kissock, Baxter, Vaughan, Anichebe, Rodwell. That's not even talking about Duffy (standard Championship defender), Bidwell (ditto) and others who have gone on to have careers in the lower leagues that were never even considered as more than players who 'might do a job' when they were with us.

It's tough to break through and at some point you have to start performing week in and week out as a full professional rather than a young talent. (That would be you Besic, Garbutt, Browning, Galloway and Barkley.)

So much as we might like them to have a good career here Long, Grant, Lundstram and McAleny are probably playing for the shop window rather than a place in next year's squad. Over the years I've seen good things in pre-season friendlies or on loan from them, but I've also seen plenty of times where they haven't done that much. And, if they haven't done that much, how do they deserve to be in a squad that everyone is shouting needs to be better?

Well no, he is wrong.

No such think as a poor footballer at this level, if you knew what they had to do to get to this level....its imposible to fluke or blag your way in.

Most said the same about Gibson, and look how that changed.

The bitterness for United players or ex players is so obvious, they produce good players.....AND HE IS FREE.

If it was Carlos Kickaball on a free from Almeria, they would be creaming.

With respect, there is such a THING as a poor footballer at this level and we've sadly got our fair share.
Gibson is, in my opinion, at best an average player with the occasional glimmer of talent.
My bitterness towards us signing players from Manure would be tempered if we were actually interested in and could afford signing any of their quality players and not bang average journeymen like Cleverley, Gibson etc.
I'd have De Gea over Howard... I'd have Rooney back over just about anyone... I'd have Fellaini back too... they've got some excellent players, I just don't want any more of their fringe players whether they've won titles with them or not, cos it means little.
Tommy Jackson won a title with us in 69/70, but was really nothing more than a squad player.

Because he's good enough to play professionally

He's basically better at football than an average human being

However, there are many people better than him at playing football

Hence, comparatively to his peers, he's rubbish

I could draw a diagram for you if it'd help mate

Do keep up

And is that how United's academy and scouting work ??

"He is ok....lets keep him for 12 years..."

England managers picked him because he was better than park players then ??

Just have a think about what you are saying!!!

But we are not Uniteds level !!!

And NON of our players are poor or average, they are top players, playing in a top league.

Have you every played semi-pro football ?? The level is high, and their is always 1 or 2 that you think should be higher. Well these "poor or average players" you talk of are on a different planet to those.

Read the words I write... if we were actually interested in and could afford
I didn't suggest we were/are at their level - certainly not in terms of finances etc.

Comparatively speaking and when assessed against his peers of the same level, he's poor. Not that hard to understand really.(Cleverly)

Ledson looks boss
