Transfer Rumour Ryan Fraser

But you totally contradicted yourself, saying if money is tight, keep the guy on high wages. Who’s sale wouid look loads better on the balance sheet.

I wasn’t excited by the iwobi signing. But I haven’t been by watching Bernard either. And it doesn’t really matter if they fit the system or not if they aren’t good enough it’s not going to improve the team. Ancelotti has played Bernard in 2 of his 4 away games. Chelsea and West Ham, with iwobi and siggurdsson not available. For the West Ham game And he’s been taken off in both games.

Hes not good enough And Fraser is even worse.

I just hate Iwobi mate - up there with Tosun & Bolasie as our recent worst signings.

I actually like him, esp on a free. Apparently his form this year is down to the uncertainty with his contract. Last season he was very dangerous and to have as an option on normal wages is a plus.

He's not quite their level mate, at least Iwobi is still quite young and got a higher ceiling. Think he's been a bit unfortunate with injuries too. I think the thing that hurts with Iwobi is that the whole last week of that window was Zaha and then it was clear as day Iwobi was a panic buy when that inevitably didn't happen.

Wish people would stop saying Iwobi was a panic buy.

We approached him in March.

We also only ever made 1 bid for Zaha.

We bought Iwobi late cos he was at the AFCON then on holiday.

When peoples contracts expire we don't need to shift them, their contracts expire.
It would be good if when a player didn't perform, such as Bolasie, that we could sell them without the two to three years of wasting money paying their wage.

But yes I did phrase that poorly.

If we were sure Fraser was going to be a success then it wouldn't really matter that he is 26. Are you sure that he is going to be a success?

For me he's your typical EFC signing of the last couple of years - the type of cast off that you know might be alright for a top 10 finish but is never going to have you pushing around 6/7th.

He may have developed under another 4231 type manager but he's never going to make it here if Ancelotti sticks with the 442 imo.

If Villa or WHU stay up I hope we can convince them to take a punt.
