Run up to the Derby

Goes without saying that we'll get beat. Tbh I'd take a 0-0 now, even though I know we're the better team, squad, fans, have the better manager, etc. Something will conspire to put us on the back foot. It'd be nice to win, like.

According to one of the worst newspapers in the country, Daniel Agger might be out for the season: http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/footba...uspected-medial-ligament-damage#ixzz27KVbdD21

If true, this really hurts the Rodgers circus. Agger is a decent player and without him they have a big hole at the back. For us the timing couldn't be better: Mirallas and Anichebe hitting form, Felli scoring goals and Jelavic poised to return from injury. If Gibbo is back in time to shield the centre backs and dictate play in midfield, we have every chance of a 3 - 0 win.

Kelly is officially out until next year, Shelvey has an automatic 3 match ban, which could be increased to include the Derby subject to 4th official report regarding comments to Ferguson on his way off and who knows about Agger ????

Fellani is our best player by far right not but his head wasn't in it against WBA. He was terrible against them and it wouldn't have mattered where he played.

That's not the point. Gibson came off and Hibbert wasn't fit enough for sixty minutes (both goals were arguably his fault because he just wasn't ready for game time). Moyes had three choices, either bring on Seamus for RB and have Nev take Gibson's place, drop back Fellaini to cover for Gibson and bring on Kev or go with a not fit Hibbert at Rb and Nev and Osman in the middle. He chose the latter and it didn't work at all. It's not unresaonable to argue that the other two choices would have been better.

The fact that Fellaini was getting bullied by Olsson and was totally ineffective is exactly why he should have been sacrified and put in the screening role while other players could try their luck against the west brom defence.

I'm not going to have a go at Moyes because I thought we played reasonably well first half and it didn't seem a bad call at the time, it was just one of those days when things didn't work out and I don't think the manager should take the blame. But he still got it wrong.

Agger: After initial reports said the defender could miss the rest of the season it has now emerged that he did not tear ligaments and could be back in training within one or two weeks

If they weren't already struggling Kelly is now out for the season and possibly Agger too. Borini is an injury concern as well and Shelvey will have to serve a three game ban.

Their team will need to be something like:

___________Reina
Johnson Skrtel Carragher Enrique
_______Allen Henderson
____Sterling Gerrard Suso
__________Saurez

Subs: Jones, Sahin, Assaidi, Coates, Downing, Pacheco, Flanagan

Rodgers has put himself in a position where he has little option but to rely on youth after excluding Downing and Cole from his recent squads. It will also have put Enrique's nose out of joint that Johnson is currently preferred ahead of him. If they get an injury to Saurez, Gerrard or Skrtel they could really struggle.

Really shows how bad their club is run, that bench you listed, cost them £30 million!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really shows how bad their club is run, that bench you listed, cost them £30 million!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's do the maths...

Jones- £2.4m
Sahin- loan (£4.4m according to Transfermarkt)
Assaidi- £3.5m
Coates- £7m
Downing- £20m
Pacheco- youth
Flanagan- youth

£37.3m if Transfermarkt is to be believed, although more than half of that is on Downing. And Rodgers has told the former Villa man that his only chance is at leftback, where he will be third in the pecking order behind Johnson and Enrique! Just because they spent a lot of money doesn't necessarily mean that they're any good.

As long as the Racist and Mr. Hollywood-pass plays we are gonna bottle it and loose.

Agger being out is great news for us (not for Denmark though) as Carra and Kojak cannot pass the ball out of defense.

I really really hope I'm wrong and we batter them.

I dream as an Evertonian who was there in 1982,of a 5-0,please god for once lets give those bar stewards a hiding!!
