Yes, not surprised. Quinnell was the same. Worth remembering of course that Andy Farrell went from playing prop in his last season at Wigan to England centre.

That said, I suspect Tuilagi could go well in League. He'd probably be a 2nd row though as his distribution isn't all that. Some of the Welsh lads could also be handy.

The fact that when asked who was the greatest player ever to play at 'Twickers' was, the answer given instantly was Alex Murphy (1 game RAF v Army during Nat. Service) says it all really, League Players have always been able to step straight into a game of Union whereas for the most part it isn't true in the opposite direction.
For Example Inga the Winger leaves All Blacks to sign for Wigan, leaving as their record try scorer that basically nobody could stop with the ball in his hands, he spent next 3-4 months losing about 5 stone and getting himself fit enough to play League.
Is right. Northern hemisphere union is a bag o pish compared to the S hemisphere game, and just infects everyone with it's gash-ness. Say someone like Sam Tomkins decided he wanted to switch codes, though, which I'm sure he had the opportunity to, what exactly would he do in an English RU team? Do you think he would shine? I reckon he'd look pretty ordinary, standing there waiting for the fatties to telegraph a pass to him for 80 mins.

At least with league everyone's playing the same game. Aus might be the best, but England can contest matters on a more or less equal footing. Fair and Square. European union sides either get hammered by the tri-nations teams, or they occasionally squeak a victory by rules-lawyering the opposition to death.

Laughing at the steroid endorsing wools here. Its British bulldogs for injected arsed bad barnet wools and nothing more. No skill involved in it, just size and drugs.
Explain what Rob Burrow is doing there then mate. He shouldn't be good if its just a needles in arms race.

Or how pretty much every one of the players in this 'heaviest in Union' list http://rugbyonslaught.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/rugby-onslaught-heaviest-xv.html are heavier than the heaviest player in this 'heaviest in League' list http://www.zerotackle.com/nrl/rugby-league/players/heaviest-lightest/

Compare the skills of 106kg Greg Inglis

I like watching vids like that, remind us of how massively pathetic football players are.

Inglis is a bit of a freak. Very big, very quick and very skillful. England have got George Burgess playing for us in this World Cup and he's in a similar mould. 120kg or something and very swift for such a big man. Must be like trying to tackle an express train.

For me the reasons you want to watch rugby are the big runs, the big tackles, the outrageous skill. These are the things that put bums on seats, so you want the game to encourage those things. Stuff like scrums, lineouts, goal kicking aren't what rugby is about imo.

I went to watch England v Australia on Saturday in Cardiff with some mates and we were close to leaving. What a **** sport, so one dimensional and pointless. Yeah some the hits were huge and those guys are a bunch of fit, hard bastards. But watching a whole game of the same repeated moves is shocking. Union anyday.
