Don't think Lomu played league, he did start off as a Number 8 though.

Average length of time scrums take up in a game of union is around 20 minutes now. They have to sort it out, that's a quarter of the game with big men trying to engage eachother.....oooo errr.

Quite. Add in the time taken up by kicking at goal and it becomes a very stop, start game. When Union is played well it's a fantastic sport. Just, too often it isn't.

The last two games of the 4 Nation Championship down here between the All Blacks and South Africa and AB's vs Australia. Two of the best games of rugby you'll ever watch. When it's good, it's very, very good, far better than League.

I think you guys may be starved of entertaining rugby too, try and watch some of the National Provincial Championship (NPC) that just finished down here, it's some of the best brand of rugby in the world, very attacking, hard hitting, accurate rugby, full of the next Jonah Lomus. You won't see drop goals and 9-9 scorelines.

Aye, southern hemisphere rugby is the bees knees, in either code. I'd say Origin is the peak of the sport (from either code), but did certainly enjoy the AB v SA game recently, and the super 14 game they played in London a year or so back.

How good was Kieran Reed in that game? He's the best player in the world in Union at the moment. A Number 8 ranging on the wings bumping off backs and offloading to the winger. Him and Savea (a cut out of Lomu) have some hell of an understanding right now.

Crusaders are the most successful provincial rugby team, was gutted they didn't play it up here tbh. as I was a regular at Lancaster Park during my time there.

It was the only place you could go to where you could be in the proximity of an actual crowd of people.

Half an hour early for training (didn't realise the time had changed - suppose it's what I deserve for never listening).

Anyway, there's loads of Uni students playing rugby union and they pull their socks up to their knees even though they're not wearing shinnies.

What's all that about?

League.
