Royston Drenthe

I love Royston. He just gives us something else. If he improves of his discipline and whole 'loose cannon' approach he could be a superb player.

He's a lot of things but mainly he's unpredictable.

Everton at the moment have never been so predictable, and right now he's the only player who isn't, and as such the only reason to watch us play.

Without him we're boring and mind-numbing to watch.

Most wingers are unpredictable... Look at nani as a prime example! One thing for sure is all good teams need players who can make things happen. Sometimes out of nothing.. They can be worth a fair few extra points a season. The key I think is keeping that side to them whilst making sure there not going to loose you more points than they win you.

I think he's improving and moyes did say he's starting to trust him more!

Yep. Nani is incredibly inconsistent, i remember watching the United game away to Ajax and cringing at the amount of times he messed up. He's also the kind of player who wins you games, which is what we need so desperately.

Agreed, he's always trying to push which leads to both brilliance and dodgy free kicks against etc.

Gotta have players like that in squad though to be a great team I reckon - look at Ballotelli, Rooney, Cantona, Kean, Big Dunc, Gascoine, Best and so on. Always trying to push the envelope one way or another, but bloody brilliant to watch and well worth the trouble playing them I reckon.

P.S. No I'm not trying to claim Royston is same class as above, he's just the same kind of 'edgy 'player for me.

Am I the only to think he'd be better adjusting to playing in the hole in a Moyes team? He'd make the defence think twice about pushing up for shiz :)

We have not had anyone like him who attacks like he does, or scores goals like he does since Kanchelskis.
