Calling people racists just marginalises them rather than persuade and sway. I said the same regarding Brexit and look how that turned out.

Anyway just wanted to preempt any celebration for someone's demise, I don't want an argument.

I’ve worked in charity work for families in financial difficulties and my experience is very different. People blamed immigrants for their own difficulties despite the massive government cuts at the time.

People are all to happy to be racist. You don’t see any of the Tommy robinson fans at other marches supporting women who are victims of violence. They only care when it’s an immigrant or someone who isn’t white. Almost like their concern is all bullshit.

Do something similar in a volunteer sense so I can’t say it’s my own experience as yours but..I do it for refugees who are seeking resettlement. Half of the lads I grew up are podcast educated these days and can’t tell the difference between a refugee and an immigrant.

The issue is, people don’t want to know. You can provide any sort of facts/ arguments or reasoning that they can’t answer to but they’ll still go back to the same nonsense in their Facebook groups, podcasts and pub chats.

People say it’s a lack of education, but for me, it’s just people enjoying being bigots.
