Mate blagging to save face and completely making up a story are two different things. Whatwpuld he have to gain by pretending Barkley went to Chelsea?

Barkley can be a Beast a counter attacking side, which is what we are now. He doesn't fit as well in a possession based side because he still takes a little too long on the ball and his football IQ isn't on the level of rooney but he would be terrifying for r opponents in big Sam's system of getting it up the pitch quickly. He could play deeper and link defense to attack with the ball or be an outlet for long balls. He's all action and he'd be perfect for us right now.

Lookm at the form and how finished some players looked under Koeman, look at them now they have had things 'simplified' - Rooney and Williams probably being the 2 most stand-out cases, although same could be argued for Gueye - who is now looking tremendous now he has a clearly defined job to do rather than roaming all over the place.

I actually think Barkley isn't the most 'intelligent' playuer in terms of grasping the intricacies of the game etc, so what you need is someone who just breaks it down to the simplest terms for him, think both prior managers have actually tried to turn him into something he will never be - a clever all round play-maker type, the reality is he is what he is - a player who in the correct system can be better than anything we are capable of going out and buying.

He scored a totally amazing 5 goals and had less assists than the likes of Joe Allen at Stoke.

Wish people would stop making him out to be better than he actually is just because he’s currently unavailable.

He’s decent that’s it and very easily replaced.

He has shown glimpses of brilliance in his career but it is very few and far between.

Yes he may go to spurs or Chelsea but so what? Doesn’t mean he’s nailed on to start for either side.
