Ross Barkley

Correct. He had a dire 2016, and that's being kind. If, because of 12 weeks of good, form he now thinks he should be on £140k P/W he needs his head testing.
What if he could get it elsewhere and as he knows we can now afford it but aren't offering it that we value him less than others.

Personally think if lallana gets £150k then Ross should be paid comparable. Appreciate lallana is 28 & worked his way up to that contract but we could heavily incentivise Ross so that he has the same earning potential with a lower basic.

We want & expect to be a champions league club but aren't there yet however if we want champions league quality players we need to start paying champions league wages.

Disagree 100k for a 23 year old England international with some of the best stats in the league? Jesse Lingard and Jamie Vardy have just signed 100k a week deals and they are chod

He doesn't start for England, we are not in the CL and vardy won their club the title and man u pay silly wages as their best players are on 250 a week.

I don't think Barkley done enough yet

Losing Lukaku would be tough but I can't see it not happening now this summer, so keeping Ross is even more important.

He's shown his quality and has been a huge part of our run since losing to to them lot.

I'd hope the club show how important he is and whack £120k per week on the table for him. I can't see another team matching that wage as well as paying the price for him (no idea what it would be, but surely £40-50m?), unless he was a team's main signing of the summer which is unlikely.

Spurs are the worry in this because despite their recent success they seem to be struggling to attract the level of players they need, and Ross is probably one of the best players they could go for.

I agree. He can have another pay rise if he takes us to CL.

Imagine the signing on fee and wages he could command if he lets this last 12 months (or even until January) slip by without signing a contract.

Koeman and Walsh have said on numerous occasions that if ROSS does not sign a new contract in the summer he will be sold in the next window.
That chances of your scenario happening are Zero , but you were always a glass half full type

Not a chance, if he is not signing a new deal he will be sold in the summer.
I dont know about that.

Look at it this way: Stones was sold, and it looks odds on Lukaku is being sold. Can you imagine what it would look like if we lost all three of Stones, Lukaku and Barkley in 12 months since Moshiri tipped up and stated he'd retain all our star players and that it was a priority to keep them?

He'd look daft and another bit of trust in this organisation would fly out the window along with a lot of prestige losing such players.

If Barkley is not signing a new deal even Ross stays on for 12 months then our boss will still look daft. I guess Barkley will be retained eventually but Lukaku will be off.

True but we are reportedly offering koaslniac the left back free transfer £160k per week. The wages are so high as he is a free transfer & As such there is zero annual depreciation of his fee through the accounts.

Ross was free & has proven to be one of the best attacking midfielders in the league for 4 months what would you be thinking if you were him.

Plus Liverpool have historically paid players high wages that they wouldn't get elsewhere he will minimum get £125k per week eleswhere if he leaves.

if I was Ross I'd be thinking if my home town club were willing to offer me 100k a week or anything remotely near that I'll sign as soon as someone hands over a pen.

If Everton offer 160k a week for a full back then more fool them. You mentioned the rs paying Lallana 150k and Ross should be on comparable wages but like I said before, don't use the rs as a yardstick of what to do wages wise because if someone like Lallana was on more than 60k a week at our club there would be bloody riots.

Only because other clubs are stupid enough to do it, doesn't mean we should follow suit.

Either players sign on the dotted line and show their commitment or they can koff and I don't care who they are and how good they are. You need a squad, a squad of committed, hungry players with sprinkles of talent and not all of them need to be on 100k a week or more to get to that level.

How can they sell him if he doesn't want to go?

Ross needs to put an end to this uncertainty.

Whilst we may expect poop house behaviour from the likes of Lukaku it certainly isn't expected from one of our own.

If his decision is to leave then good luck to the lad but at least give the club a chance of getting a good fee in return.
