why don't clubs begin to propose contracts having an attractive retainer enhanced by performance bonuses ?

I think that in previous decades, the 'bonus' part of the wage was a significant % of the overall package?
Bosman ruling has affected this and most other stuff re club/player power in negotiations?

a % of revenue put into a player pool and disbursed season's end?. I would say profit, but that might be too easily manipulated.
Win stuff and revenue increases significantly

I'm not sure how that would impact FFP rules. I get what you are saying...incentivise winning. They put all kinds of bonus clauses like that in American sports contracts.

At the end of the day though FFP rules really make it difficult to break through. The rich stay rich. City did break through by breaking FFP rules initially...they paid I think 60 mil in fines for doing it. So there is that way around it.

Not sure Farhad is minted enough to say screw the rules...I'll just pay whatever fine they give me.

Not really.we need to keep both if we are serious about challenging ........Losing Ross and Rom makes us Southampton !!

I'm not saying it's a good thing if he goes, but read people's comments to him going. People don't seem that arsed in general. I'm just making a comment as to why that could be. I'm not saying it's good for the club. Otherwise why else in general are people less arsed about him going?

I think they had a £50m fine, but had £34m suspended and then went out a couple of days later to buy ?Mangala? for the same prize making an even bigger mockery of FFP.
