Ross Barkley

The lad should realise how lucky he is to be paid millions of pounds to represent Everton. Literally anybody on here would do it for free, or even pay for the opportunity, yet he fails to drag his arse around the pitch for an hour and a half a week and lets a few scals in the crowd ruin his Saturday afternoon shift at work. I can't even feel sorry for him right now. He is six foot tall and in perfect physical shape, yet has little to no influence in 90% of the games he plays in.

Utter gash.

He has a mixed start to the season and muppets like you decide he is the new Osman to scapegoat.

He's the most talented player at the club and that's why I won't write him off and that's why we need to keep the faith in him.

But equally since he's the most talented we can't accept absolutely pathetic showings like last night and rightly should demand better from him. He needs to show some more desire.
I disagree with the first part (most talented player), but definitely agree with the bit about his pathetic showings and that we should demand more.

He is a talented lad, no question, and he is physically in great shape (powerful, tall), yet flatters to deceive a lot more than he has an influence on the game. Forget his fluke goal against Spurs, apart from that he's been total poo for 5 games.

Needs a massive wake-up call.

It's the pure basics which are proving a massive hindrance with his progression; the lad can pick up a ball and drift past players with ease, cracked one from 30 yards into the top bin.

But on to many occasions the fundamental basics are his downfall, taking to long to make a pass, under hitting a ball, awareness of what's around him.

No lad, as you know but choose to ignore, that refers to your petulant outbursts about the player who was superb against Boro.
Wait... Boro... assists came from a Mirallas corner, a Gueye pass to Coleman (I think) and a Bolasie cross for Lukaku. Barkley didn't test their goalkeeper at all during the match (as far as I can remember), and Gueye was rightfully man of the match. So if he's not scoring, and not assisting, yet is playing as our number 10...

What did he do that was so superb? I genuinely cannot remember, and I watched the full 90 minutes and have watched MOTD and the 20 minute highlights on the OS.

I'd say he was about a 6/10 against Boro, which is a marked improvement on his other performances, yet still way below the standard we should be demanding. Let's not forget it was a home game against one of the weakest teams in the division and he'd been handed a start despite an absolutely horrific showing in the previous match.

You sure he was superb?

You're getting on my wick.

He's 22.

He was poor yesterday and needs consistency.

I don't know if it's an issue when he's expected to control the game? Who knows.

He's got a really annoying habit of that one touch too many. Needs to keep things sharp and simple like he did vs Boro.
