Ross Barkley

Ross is in a mans game and is no longer potential, he needs to develop thick skin because he cant sulk every time things don't go his way!! He also needs some fire in his belly on the pitch. Koemans comments are justified and the decision to drag him off was justified, so he now needs to knuckle down shrug the criticism off and prove to everyone what a great player he is. I think he will be in the team on Saturday, but if he gives another inept performance he will surely be bombed from the team for a couple of weeks..


MOM Barkley 9/10 performance with 2 assists....

I reckon that Ross in any Everton side put together by Koeman will be like giving donkeys strawberries. He needs class around him to perform. If Koeman is looking for a Drinkwater type who gets the ball deep and pings it 30 yards to a whippet like Boalise then we may as well call it quits. Our boy Ross don't do hoof, he carries the ball at his feet like a CL thoroughbred.

my suspision is he would rather play players that don't pass to the oppsition all the time
 
Ross Barkley is not a boy anymore. He is an experienced premiership player and a full international.
If he is to fulfil his potential then he has to step up his game several notches... the physical ability is there and I think the manager is now asking the question if the desire and application is there.

Koeman is a manager ,it seems to me, in the Alex Ferguson mould. The players are set a target and they must reach it or suffer the consequences.

Ross...over to you.

He falls out with players. It's what he does. He does it because he's 'Koeman' and has an impressive player CV. If he was a manager with impressive CV there'd be less room for criticism, but he isn't.

If he wants to single him out (and why he'd want to so far this season I have no idea) then do it at Finch Farm, not in front of a load of hacks standing by ready to stick the poison pen in.

It's up to Barkley now, does he want to go on and become the best player he can be, under a manager who was excellent in his day, or does he want to continue to hide when it matters and think that he doesn't have to put in the hard work when he isn't playing well. He can be an excellent player but he is mentally weak and that's what bothers me about him given how long he's been in the first team.

Yes, where it should have remained.

To make the Barkley public dressing down stick he'd have to have gone after Lukaku in the same way. Lukaku hadn't done anything for Everton since last March. What did Koeman do? He praised him and said it'll all come good.

Treat them all the same or it makes you look like a hypocrite.

Hes got the most impressive CV of any Everton manager before him.

Basically RK has told the truth, he needs to improve! Surely Ross agrees, also sends out a clear message to Ross and all the squad that they need to perform. You dont need to make it public. The very act of hauling him off at HT does that trick for you.
