Kinda has a point though, said it over the years he lacks the brain and speed of thought to go with the ability. Tbf to him he looked to have sharpened up a bit last season so hopefully now under Ron he can keep improving that side, especially the positional discipline
 

Lets not fool ourselves.

Ross is a diamond, but he's still lacking in the decision making areas. I see where the criticism could be made.

So he won't be a stand alone playmaker. No big deal. Just line him up alongside a creative type and he'll make things happen often enough that it won't matter.
 
Criticising him for not having a football brain is hard to take from someone with no brain at all.

Having said that, if anyone should know about never being world class it's him!
 
I think Stan is right, how many times have we seen Ross make a run, no one cant stop him but at the same time he can see ahead of him a great chance to pass to someone in a far more dangerous area but he dosent see it? Other players have the vison but not the ability, combine the two and he can be dangerous, I just hope Koeman can add something to his game as if he does Ross is going to be a hell of a player.
 

He doesn't have the 'tactical nous'? That's what coaches are for!
He just needs to be told what to do. I think Martinez was too soft on him and didn't give hm enough direction. I'm hoping Koeman will be the man to get the most out of him.

Football isn't as complicated as some pundits try to make out.
