Barkley staying doesn't solve a problem for us, but it helps to avoid one.
He's never going to be a worldbeater (sorry, but he just isn't), but he's a good player who would be an asset to any PL squad, so we should be delighted if and when he signs a new contract. He's still got a lot of developing to do, but his best years are in front of him.
