Then it's up to the club to decide if he's worth that outlay. If he is, great, sign him on. If not, great, get rid. It's asset management.

What's it's not is down to the manager to devalue that asset in public. I really wouldn't have minded if we had sold Barkley, but we'd have sold him on the cheap for no reason due to the way we handled it.
