Ross Barkley

I'd think he'd do better spending time overseas, where he will get more time on the ball, but I hope he signs a new deal, I think to lose him would be a big mistake.

Let's put this countinho love in to bed.

Form start of last season

Barkley v coutinho
Key passes. 101. 89
Chances created 116. 98
Goals 12. 14
Assists 15. 10

This premier league games only & taken from squawka.

The media push a narrative recent political events have taught anyone who didn't already know this the truth.

Genuinely can't believe the reaction to a bad game Owen efffing Hargreaves suggesting he needs to get his head down & become more productive like countinho.

He needs to make his bad games less horrific. Yes he can have off days but he needs to keep doing the basics and stop his bad days becoming utterly woeful days like yesterday. His mentality, not his ability is the problem.

So true i think the only way to do that is with help from us & hopefully surrounding him with better players to try & lift him/Instill it in him. I don't think he is going to get there on his own.

Barkley has been having a good season but i thought he played like a brainless carthorse yesterday. He played with fight and aggression but it wasn't channeled correctly. It was more of a brainless raging bull in a china shop sort of fight and aggression if that makes sense.

Getting cheesed off with all this 'Barkley needs to get to the levels of Coutinho' etc. What I find dead funny is how all these bellend pundits having a pop at him and sucking Coutinho's nob at the same time forget that the last few months leading up to the derby game Barkley has been boss, whereas Coutinho in that same period has been crap, blinkered the lot of them.

You'd think as a "blue" and a homegrown Everton player he would be right up for the derby

Why then after being in decent form of late does he then have a shocker in the game you'd expect he'd be most up for?

The players seem to panic every time we go away to a top side

These are stats & they are totals for The seasons combined so don't take into account the fact that countinho is very fragile & as such tends to miss chunks of each season he really isn't suiteD to the physicality of the premier league.

However if you change the metric on the stats to per 90 minutes they are seriously close bearing in mind countinho plays in a team that has scored more goals & finished higher than us in both seasons it speaks volumes.

I think he was too up for it played like I would & just tried to smash everyone ultimately he is a professional & needs to learn to control his emotions & channel his aggression.

These days there's nothing more Everton than bottling a Derby. So he's definitely a proper Everton player. .

Think the problem with Ross was he was to up for it and stopped doing the things he had been doing .headless chicken at times but kept trying and never hid ,hopefully just another lesson learnt

.....whilst I wouldn't defend his tackle on Lovren, the outcry and demands for an apology by the Reds defender are yet another example of one rule for them and one for another. How can they be so righteous when they kept quiet over a series of dreadful tackles from Gerrard, Kuyt et al.

We accept it was a bad one but you would never get the same acceptance when Gerrard went two footed on Naismith. They are the best supporters in the world though.

It's this media love in that stops them winning anything. 'Coutinho is world class', no he's not he turns up for United and Everton then maybe 1 in 3 or 4 aside from that. He's another jumped up big game game raiser who if he's not on tv away at Hull or Bournemouth can't be bothered playing. He's signed a contract there because his agent knows full well that no one is coming in for him and any other top club would have punted him already.

Barkley is yet to have a decent game in a derby for us.

Think he goes overboard personally in his aggression. He can't keep a lid on it.
