Tbf he has only been fit for a month. Will aslo take him a while to get back to speed from his injury, he was in pretty poor form on his return from the broken toe last season for about 6 weeks and that was despite playing in a consistent position.

Bit of a shame he was taken on an international break tbh. Think he may have benefitted from staying home and training a bit more.

Problem is it would have turned into a whole "Martinez reluctant to release players to their countries" especially with the Keane comments.

Barkley was pissed off because he didn't get on earlier or start. He's just coming back from injury and if everyone takes off their blue glasses, they'll realise that there is a lot of competition in the England midfield. But Hodgson was right to bollock him...he came on and started fannying around(like he does for Everton, in fact) and lost the ball at least 3 times in as many minutes. He's currently a 'good' player...its up to him whether he can become a 'great' player, but the warning signs are there. Ross has to learn to be more decisive, move the ball on quicker, and follow the team plan. Great runs into the opponents box and the odd good finish do not make a complete footballer. It may come, but then again it may not. Just my opinion, trying to be unbiased about one of our potentially excellent players. and Wilshire tonight looked like a player, for the first time really in an England shirt.

it was a great assist from wilshire but honestly he does not know how to play positionaly as a dmf especially when your use to barry's movement

Thought Hodgson was bang out of order tbh. To come on with 5 mins left in a game like that and your first involvement being a situation where there is no pass on whatsoever...I mean what else could he of done? He tried to hold the ball up, waiting for an out ball and lost his footing and slipped.

A word in his ear or some constructive instructions from the sideline would of been appropriate. Telling him off like a naughty child is bad management.

Ross will never excell for England under Hodgson. And without sounding Kopite if Ross played for UTD, L'pool etc, I guarantee Hodgson would be treating Ross differently than he is doing now.

Baines injured, Ross treated like a kid, jags under appreciated, Barry ignored...would rather all are lot no where near the england camp tbh!!

Pretty much this, compared to Downing this season he has done nothing.

I know yeah. Lets compare Ross' performances to a player that has been fit all season. Ross only came back about 3 weeks ago, Downing has played every game for West Ham.

I think it's the circumstances tbh mate. And the fact others that do the same don't get the same tongue lashing or questioned in the media by a manager.

Meh. England isn't doing his confidence any good it seems. Hodgson doesn't seem to trust him a great deal at present either. Not ideal.

It is so depressing to see what Hodgson is doing with England. There is just no ambition or foresight to do any more than qualify any more. We already know the likes of Downing and Milner are very very average players, who have repeatedly proven that at the WC and the Euros. I agree that if you want to win a match now, against below average opposition (Scotland etc), you choose these players as they have a bit of experience. The thing is, it is not the players that can do a job now, in a worthless friendly, it is all about the cups. We know Downing and Milner are average, and not getting any better so why not give Ross the game time. He, along with Sterling and Wiltshire, have the ability to drag England away from mediocrity but they need time to play together.
I guess you can argue that on form, they should be picked over Ross, but if you are doing that you have to be consistent. You cant pick Downing and Milner because they are on form, and then still pick Henderson, Lambert and Smalling.
Its all so biased, mediocre and painful to watch.

Defintely. Too much too soon can be too much pressure and for that reason some of the stuff that comes out of Bobby's mouth is also strange.

agreed ,he has started it with Barry now . Martinez say's he is the best midfielder in the premiere league. why does he feel the need to big up all his players, as long as tells them they are doing great and they feel loved that should do.
