We accepted the offer from Chelsea, it was going to happen, until Barkley and his agent pulled the plug on the deal, so both of them could benefit massively.

I am not convinced/trusting of any information about this barkley deal, it has stunk for 18 months.

I can see where Joe Anderson is coming from with his request for transparency, but I suspect nothing will come of it because there is probably hundreds of transfer deals/scams like it and that can of worms cannot be opened.

As far as I am concerned Barkley should be ashamed of the way he has treated Everton, but he won't be as he doesn't seem to be that type.

Let him live with what he has done, it will come back and bite him in the arse.

I simply don't understand why the game needs agents.

And I sure as hell don't get why an agent gets a fee on top of a transfer!
If a club pays £20m for a player to another club, that's it, that is the price, buying a contract from another club that owns the contract.
The agent is paid by the player, and takes a cut of the wages. If they negotiate better wages with the new team, the agent gets more, it not he still carries on getting the same fee each month.

The game would be far better if they were all binned.

If agents got binned players would be getting mugged off 24/7 by clubs. Make no mistake, big clubs are every bit as morally repugnant as agents when it comes to making money,

What Chelsea did was shady, but I'd like to think we would have similar acumen if it came to signing a player who wouldn't be fit for half a season and that is you don't buy them until they can actually play. Roman Abramovich didn't become a billionaire by throwing away £20m when he doesn't have to.

The fault in all of this lies solely with Barkley. He should have had much more respect for the club that raised him, stood by him through injury and poor form and made him into an international. He could have forced that transfer through in the summer but he agreed to the plot that would screw us. That is what makes this whole debacle infuriating, you expect this kind of behaviour from Chelsea but you'd hope the player would have more respect. That is why he'll forever be know as a rodent.

Barkley has mugged off the Club for his own gain. A player that we invested in and nurtured most of his life. Looked after him after a serious injury and put faith in him. Cost us 20m through his own greed went back to Everton got paid a hefty weekly wage knowing he wouldn't kick a ball for us again then never even said thanks and put up his 2 fingers to us. Used us big style. I wish him no luck in the future just for taking the pee out of us. Could have easily agreed to a 1 or 2 year contract with an agreement to let him go to the highest bidder.
Total lack of respect and not an ounce of loyalty.

I’ve thought for a long time that some if not all of these agents at the top level are only in it for what they can get for themselves and not acting in the best interest of their clients, the players!
I’d make it that all player/football related deals have to be negotiated by the PFA across the board - no exceptions! Make that Gordon Taylor earn his half a million pounds a year by actually doin* something useful!
If players need agents for other off field commercial deals then so be it, but they should have nothing to do with any football related deals, they are the modern day leech!!!

Can't remember where I saw it but the video of Ross he uploaded telling the Chelsea fans he can't wait to see than at the bridge is most dead, lifeless and soulless thing I've ever seen.

He has the personality of a blown bulb.
