We accepted the offer from Chelsea, it was going to happen, until Barkley and his agent pulled the plug on the deal, so both of them could benefit massively.
That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. A ploy by player and agent to line their pockets. I won't accept anybody saying Ross was "poorly advised" because he (arguably) is adult enough to know what he is doing. I'd say the deal needs to be looked at though, as agents earning 7m on a 15m transfer means something is going very, very wrong.

Was near Manchester airport this morning, stuck in roadworks, and some bloke in a lorry tried to barge his way in to the queue. I was having none of it. Normally I'd have let him in, but not this time......

And I'm not even arsed.

It was obvious that the manager of Chelsea didn't sign Barkley, in his interview just after he signed he was talking about him in the 3rd person not really interested.
You won't see much of Ross this season and by next seadon they will have signed another Brazilian or two.
Sad end to a promising career, Newcastle beckons .....

He's only been signed as a profit maker. He'll flake at Chelsea and be sold with 3 years to go on his contract for about 30 million. Chelsea have vast reserves of reserves that get sold for profit continually. I'll give it to Abramovich he knows how to make money in this game.
