Rooney - where would he fit in?

Rooney is an attacking midfielder always has been.

I'd play 4 4 2 with a back line of Baines, Heitnger, Distan, Hibbo and in the middle Rooney, Gibson, Fellaini, Osman with Jelavic and Mirallas up front.

Fookin' awesome total football a la Cruyff and Neeskens - look out.

Maybe when Moyes said the moeny went to the banks, he was actually saying that he had put it in the bank, saving up for this transfer.

LADS, ITS ON!

Wayne Rooney has made more money than a fat kid from Croxteth could ever dream of or could spend in his or his families lifetime. He has won every domestic competition with Utd, so nothing left there. I'm fairly certain that after we beat Utd there was only one thought in his head, "I wish I was part of that".
If United came to us with a straight swap, Rooney for Felli (as much as I love the Belge, he ain't Wayne) we should give him £100 grand a week and then we'd really be at the races.
I may be being overly optimistic here but I have been drinking and we can all dream.

Dont want to piss on anyones chips like but im nearly sure that the 15% Sell-On clause, only lasted for 5 years? Maybe im mixing that up with somthing else.
I'm pretty certain that is the case, sell-ons generally have an expiry built in but I'm not 100%.

This....that's providing this deal hasn't been scuppered during other deals with Utd.

As for those suggesting swapping with Fellaini...Why? Apart from the fact that this is stuff from la la land, why strengthen one area to weaken another?

Well, Rooney plus 10M for Fella?

I'd take it. But we wouldn't be able to meet Rooney's demands for wage, though.

If you get rid of Felli, you will make Rooney much less effective, IMO. Fellaini behind Rooney would give him the confidence to take a chance and stay forward. The reason Rooney was so innefective against us, again, is due to us being able to close down the middle of the park and prevent the balls to Rooney, he has to come and collect it all the time. With Fellaini dominating other teams, Rooney could do what he does best.

By the time Rooney comes back here though, Fellaini will be loooooong gone.

Ok so he wud cost 30m+ an is on 250k a week....let's start a thread on him! Sum1 needs to put their crack pipe down me thinks!
